Join a team building an AI operator that actually runs Sales, Marketing, HR, and Legal workflows end to end, not just suggestions, but real actions with audit trails humans can trust. You'll own critical systems like the agent orchestration engine, multi-tenant platform, or governance layer, building the agent runtime from scratch without frameworks like LangChain. This is a genuinely full-stack role where you'll design the agent loop, build durable execution in Node.js, create the Next.js governance console, and ensure agents behave predictably across thousands of tenants under partial failure. If you want to understand what's underneath agent frameworks and build systems where correctness and failure-path design matter, this is the role.
What you'll need
- Built agentic AI systems from first principles: agent loop, tool dispatch, and context management without relying solely on frameworks
- Strong TypeScript / Node.js experience building concurrent, stateful backend systems with async/event-loop patterns and queue-backed workers
- Fluent in TypeScript / Next.js for building product and governance surfaces
- 6+ years shipping and operating production software
- Shipped and owned multi-tenant SaaS that real customers depended on
- Strong distributed-systems instincts: queues, retries, consistency, and partial-failure handling
Nice to have
- Built durable execution / workflow engines (Temporal-style patterns) or hand-rolled orchestration
- Direct model-provider SDK integration with streaming, structured outputs, and model routing/fallback
- Agent security work: prompt-injection defense and capability-scoped tool sandboxing
- Built agent eval, tracing, or guardrail tooling
- Deep AWS ownership (ECS, RDS, IAM, Terraform)
- Built 0→1 systems or early-stage platforms
- Observability expertise (OpenTelemetry, per-trace token/cost attribution, latency budgets)
